A new report from greeting card marketplace thortful.com has revealed how much the UK spends on Christening, Baby shower and gender reveal party gifts.
The report was conducted as part of thortful's PR campaign 'Cost of a baby', a data led campaign aimed at revealing how much a baby costs friends and close family of expecting parents.As part of the campaign thortful surveyed 1,000 UK respondents and asked them how much they spent on different activities and events such as Christenings, Baby showers and Gender reveal parties.
The baby shower gift market is now valued at £19 million. The data showed that 76 per cent of close friends and family members to expecting parents attend baby showers with the average price of a gift being £29. With more than 657,000 babies born in the UK each year this makes the baby shower gift market a staggering £19 million. The Gender reveal party gift market is now valued at £17 million. The data showed that 61 per cent of close friends and family members to expecting parents now attend gender reveal parties with the average price of a gift being £26. With more than 657,000 babies born in the UK each year this makes the gender reveal gift market a huge £16.7 million.
