Dunoon now produces fine bone china mugs in Staffordshire, England – the traditional home of the British Pottery Industry. The company uses a high-quality fine bone china clay from Cornwall, which contains 50 percent bone to give the mugs a beautiful translucency coupled with bright whiteness and strength. Using local craftsmen, the mugs are fired three times and feature all variety of patterns for which Dunoon is famous. With over 1000 different mug designs in the range at any one time, the company introduces over 350 new patterns each year. Hannah has created a collection of adorable designs that will chime with all dog owners. There’s the eager-to-please play dog, the accident-prone puppy and the endearingly scruffy mutt, all portrayed in her trademark mid-century- inspired style. Hannah has used a ’50s palette of soft teal, coral and sage, which combined with the graphic print-like rendering of the designs, gives her collection an appealing retro look. Inspiration for the designs came from several sources: memories of her childhood dog Joseph; her mum’s enigmatic rescue dog Poppy and her own cat-mad dog Betty.
