136 online course. I bought some footwear books to get basic knowledge then did my first collection and started introducing my sketches to people in the footwear industry – the feedback we got was amazing, which boosted my confidence. We decided then to launch the business. What challenges have you overcome since the company’s launch? I wanted to create a shoe with a unique silhouette, that was eye-catching and that emphasises a feminine sensuality in the foot without sacrificing the comfort. This was quite a challenge for the manufacturer and me as a designer. It took us a long time and a good few iterations and different prototypes to achieve a shape that has the above attributes and is comfortable to wear. The manufacturer has done a great job. Tell us about your product offering . I wanted to come up with a silhouette that was never created before and was unique, comfortable and feminine. I have studied the female foot in different positions for a long time, especially on a high and medium heel. This has helped me understand the best ways on how to make the foot look more elegant, attractive and sexy while having comfortable heels. What are your most popular products? Definitely Maria, Elsa and Lili – they’ve been requested a lot. The Maria style is actually sold out but we are restocking it due to customer’s request. Have any styles taken you by surprise with their popularity? We never thought that Maria would be requested so much. Considering that we are a new brand and our customer needs time to get familiar with the styles, we thought that Elsa mule would be more popular than Maria. How do you keep your designs fresh and current? Do you follow trends? Trends are very important to me. I always follow them but up to a certain point. I don’t want my designs to lose their DNA and be part of a commercial market. At the root of my designs is the creativity that is sparked from an inspiration. On that design I apply the trends. I think creativity is what makes a product distinctive and different from the others. My aim as a designer is to create flattering silhouettes in beautiful colour combinations. What sets you apart from your competitors? I always think about this question. In my opinion what sets me apart is my creativity
