39 COMPANY PROFILE When did you start up and why? Our design team first started in 2009. We had identified the need for exclusive product design and had freelanced or outsourced a couple of early projects, however we saw the potential for growth in this area and decided to start an inhouse team. What prompted you to start doing bespoke? Some high-profile clients were asking for our design input on some projects, as they did not have their own design capabilities. So, we offered ourselves as a design service to them. We are now capable of not just designing and producing products, but also working with clients creating a tailor-made product fulfilling their wishes. What challenges have the design department had overcome since its inception? Balancing the client’s requirements and factory’s ability to deliver is always a bit tricky. The cost issue is always present, and it is our job achieve the highest standard within the barriers of what’s financially viable. Tell us about your product design. For our product design we create on trend, exciting home and fashion accessories, fun toys for younger audiences, and high-profile licences. We design a wide array of ranges for these products all in house. From designs aimed at younger audiences such as our cute Adoramals range, to more mature ones and licenced products, like the Barks and Stormtrooper ranges. What are your most popular products? Our fun back to school stationery is a big winner, with our funky pens being a favourite. Also, a lot of our on-the-go food and drinkware, and fashionable beauty products such as our shaped Pusheen manicure sets see a lot of interest.
