OPTICAID T: +44 (0(113 239 1400 E:sales@opticaid.net www.opticaid.net Opticaid UK is proud of its Eco Collection of contemporary reading glasses and sunglasses. Due to the success of the 30pc collection of ECO readers launched earlier in the year, the team has now introduced 20 sunglass styles made from recycled water bottles and car head light surrounds! The sunglasses retail for £15 and £17 and all come with UV400 lenses and a branded slip in case. The recycled water bottles are cleaned and shredded into pellets, then coloured and melted to create new frames. The resulting modified polycarbonate material is tough, heat resistant and lightweight – a win-win for eyewear. Whilst the lenses are still made from new “virgin” material the team are looking to change this in the future as technological advances are made. Popular styles so far are unisex Vince Grey, Natasha Taupe – a round on trend frame, eye catching Halle Red and cats eye frame Hebe Tortoise. The glasses are also packed and stored in compostable bags to help minimise plastics. For product enquiries and a copy of Opticaid’s latest catalogue please contact the team. The new eco range will next be on show at Harrogate Home & Gift, July ’23. Opticaid wallets Opticaid continues to expand its gifts and accessories offer for 2023 in addition to selling high-quality reading glasses. There’s lots of new to choose from but Buyer Gillian Marchbank thinks that the reinvented ECO RFID blocking card wallets will be the winner. “It’s always been a great seller but for ’23 we’ve updated the designs and packaging and removed the plastic wrap, and made them from recycled plastic, covered with a matt aluminium finish – which is the bit that provides the RFID protection. I think they’ll be very popular. We revamped the assorted pattern collection in Feb and the new retro pattern collection arrives in May ‘23” Both collections are made from recycled material. Each counter box holds 12 designs (2 of each) and typically retails for £6/£7. They make a great gift and conveniently hold your credit and travel cards. BETTYHULA Bettyhula’s eco-conscious sugarcane tubes help reduce the C02 impact in the environment, and are fully recyclable. The new tubes are made from a renewable resource with sustainablysourced sugarcane. “We’re really happy to be able to deliver on our customers request for our tubes to be environmentally friendly,” said Lisa Swaine, Founder of Bettyhula “The great thing about sugarcane plastic is that its properties are no different from traditional plastic materials, but its environmental impact is significantly better.” 57 ECO-FRIENDLY
