55 SCOTLAND’S TRADE FAIR AUTUMN Scotland’s Trade Fair Autumn has taken on a ‘boutique’ vibe for 2024, with carefully selected exhibitors showcasing the best products for Scottish buyers. Taking place at the SEC, Glasgow from 18-19 Aug, this Show kicks off the autumn/winter buying season. With around 100 exhibitors, there is no better place to source quality Scottish products from discerning Scottish makers. However, the Show is not limited to Scotland and has many innovative brands from all over the UK and beyond. Almost a third of all exhibitors are new, with some interesting suppliers coming to Scotland for the first time. Ones to take a peek at are Go La La humorous greetings cards who recently re-located to Scotland; Gold Moss candles from Tain; Charlotte Marlow’s pet and wildlife art and Gather Homeware’s terrazzo homeware items crafted from Jesmonite. First stop for many buyers is the Launch Gallery for the youngest companies and includes Miss Peachy beauty items, Nana Kat’s apothecary delicious skincare, Heather Glen Hounds’ dog products, and Springtide Designs contemporary prints. For galleries and the more creative outlets, Scotland’s Trade Fair Craft Gallery is a design-led section with Ella Fletcher Designs colourful creative homeware from Midlothian; Alison Haddon’s silver jewellery, Humblewood’s home accessories and many more. The show gives retailers the opportunity to top up their stock for late summer and autumn, order ranges for Christmas and get a sneak preview of ideas for 2025. With a new, user-friendly website, registration has just opened for the show which begins on Sunday 18th August. Exhibitors can be checked out in advance and can be searched for by category, retail price point, region or sector, so buyers come ready to source the products that appeal to them. Soni Ahmed from Maia Gifts finds the show a vital part of the buying calendar. He says: “Each year Scotland’s Trade Fair becomes more invaluable for us to source locally designed and produced ranges. The show ticked a lot of boxes for us and the variety of products on display was excellent.” Show Director Mark Saunders adds: “As the first UK trade Show of the autumn, Scotland’s Trade Fair allows buyers to re-stock after the summer tourist season and plan ahead for Christmas.
