We began in 1977 from humble beginnings. Starting as agents (Pat & Mike Eve), turning towards importers from 1998 when Chris Eve joined. Mike Eve just loved selling, being out and about and meeting people, and presented great products. What prompted you to launch the business? Just a real passion for selling, loving travel, with each day being slightly different to the last. What challenges have you overcome since the company’s launch? Probably the very same we all have, that day-to-day balance of trying to juggle work and family life, something that is becoming increasingly difficult to achieve as we all work harder and harder. Tell us about your product offering. We import and distribute predominately ladies’ fashions, swimwear, beach and resortwear, night and homewear, with fashion accessories, reaching the smallest independent businesses to some of the largest multi-store retailers. We always try to offer brands that have a point of difference, something that a retailer and end consumer can value and appreciate, generating a real loyalty throughout the whole chain, with firm traditional values at the heart. What are your most popular products? It tends to be the shaping brands and products, with the emphasis being to flatter and make the wearer feel more confident. Working with a brand that’s had that very same focus since the 1920s makes it no surprise that Miraclesuit has been voted the best shapewear within our industry for the best part of 20 years now. Have any styles taken you by surprise with their popularity? There’s always something that catches you out, no matter how well you might feel you know the industry and trends. But being honest, it’s the key stand-out pieces that always make the most waves. Style, fit and function are the real winners, knowing the product will do the job its designed for, and is not a throw-away piece of fashion, it’s an investment, a best kept treasure.
