Here at Boxer, we want all gifts to create an impact. We believe that all gifts should be fun, wild, quirky, interesting and above all, better than before! We therefore always aim to be first to market with on-trend products, provide outstanding service for our customers and target long-term gains for both ourselves and our valuable retailers. What are some stand-out moments since the company launch? In recent years, we’re consistently nominated for the Gift of the Year awards which is always a huge compliment. In June of 2024, we also committed to our expansion into the US marketplace, purchasing our first US-based warehouse in Harrisonburg, Virginia. We’re proud of what our team continues achieve! How are you finding the current climate in the UK? Is it affecting business? With the cost of living seemingly always increasing, businesses big and small are certainly feeling the effects. However, celebrations such as birthdays and Christmas are always here to stay. We strongly believe that as long as we continue to provide the market with great giftware, that the demand will always be there for our customers! How do you view the future of independent retail? There’s no doubt that independent retailers have no shortage of challenges at the moment. From the cost of living crisis to supply chain disruptions, times have been hard. However, here at Boxer, we have an optimistic outlook on the future of independent retail! We’re seeing increased sentiment of the British public wanting to support the smaller, local businesses in their communities. Paired with the increasing opportunities for brick-and-mortar business to expand into the online landscape through social media and their own websites, we believe that the future of independent retail is looking bright! Are you active on social media? How is this important for the business? We have a designated social media manager who’s continuing to do a great job at creating exciting and engaging content for our business (shout out to you Erine!) We love using social media to communicate with our beloved retailers and we always aim to create content that they can use on their own websites and social media pages. It’s a great way to nurture relationships. Do you have any advice for new businesses starting out in the world of gifts? Be different! There’s enough businesses out there that cover the demand for the everyday and ordinary gifts. Be different to label-slapping and your gifts will be willingly received!
